Important Information Concerning NH Chapter CPCU Dues

When you receive the invoice from the CPCU Society for your 2010 renewal, you will see that the portion that is attributed to your membership for the NH Chapter has increased.

Our membership dues have not changed since 1985.  For 2010, we are increasing the annual membership cost to $75.  Our dues base will allow us to create a budget and bring more resources to you.  In exchange for this increase, we plan to change the way we fund our regular meetings (sorry we can’t yet cover the costs of education courses and the ski day).  In the past you have had to pay to fund each meeting and speaker in addition to dues.  For this coming year, our aim is to reduce the cost for NH Chapter members to attend meetings to a nominal amount, or free if possible, by including this cost up front in dues.   Our calendar for the remainder of 2009 will include:

v     Two breakfast meetings with the NH Insurance Commissioner - November 10 and 16

v     Educational seminar on November 4

v     Holiday meeting on December 10

For 2010:

v     Educational seminar on January 12

v     Annual Ski Day on February 8

v     Educational seminar on March 10

v     Business meetings in April, May and June

Put these dates on your calendar now so you don’t miss out.  As we finalize dates, locations and speakers we will communicate to you quickly.   We encourage you to take advantage of your NH Chapter membership by joining our meetings to learn from our speakers, meet your fellow CPCU’s and network.  Please remember that you also have the benefit of access to newsletters and information from all 14 Interest Groups.  We will continue to bring you educational opportunities to sharpen your skills, local level networking with other CPCU’s and resources that help you stay connected to enhance your career.

New Designee Meet and Greet!

What a night!

Canned goods were piled high on the entrance table and were later donated to the NH Food Bank.

Four of our eight new designees were honored by Rick Brisee, the Chapter Governor and Patty Smith, our Chapter President.

Our New Designees Are: Cindy Bouchard, Jay Cooke, Tracy Hrycuna, Andre Laurion, Kathleen MacDonald, Lee Melanson, Dave Morgovnik, and Jason Winslow

Rick inspired not only the new designees but all those in attendance with his comments, especially the following regarding holding the CPCU designation:

“It does distinguish you! You ARE better than everyone else! It is a big deal!”

We honored each other over the Gold Level 2009 CPCU Society Circle of Excellence Award – which is only possible due to the efforts of each and every New Hampshire CPCU member!!!! Give yourselves a hand!

Networking, facilitated by a game of BINGO where we had to learn a bit about each other to win the fabulous prizes, made the time before, during and after our wonderful meal fly by…….

Here’s hoping to see you at the next NH CPCU Society event!
