New Hampshire Chapter Turns 50!

The New Hampshire Chapter celebrated our 50th Anniversary!

The event was held on November 15, 2011 at the Manchester Country Club from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

In celebrating our Golden Anniversary, new designees were honored and Chapter Presidents from years past attended to reminisce about their time in office and how their participation in the Chapter has affected them personally and professionally.

December - Volunteer to Help at the New Hampshire Food Bank

The December New Hampshire Chapter event will be held on Tuesday, December 20 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

We will be volunteering to help out at the New Hampshire Food Bank at 700 East Industrial Park Drive in Manchester.

Most of us are very lucky.  However, we are all too aware that lives change for many reasons and some do not have safety nets to keep them from going hungry.  During this time of year when we are all so very busy, let's try to find a morning to give to others without expecting any in return.  The New Hampshire Food Bank has been the Chapter's "Good Works" project for a number of years and we are proud to support them in December.

If you are interested in helping out, please contact Christy Bartlett at christy.bartlett@acadia-ins.com.

The New Hampshire Food Bank serves as the only Food Bank in the state of New Hampshire.  Every year, the Food Bank distributes over 6.5 million pounds of donated, surplus food to 412 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, day care centers and senior citizen homes.

What is a Food Bank?  Glad that you asked...A food bank is the center of food collection and distribution in a community.  This food usually comes from grocery stores or manufacturers that have thousands of pounds of food to give away - food that would have otherwise been thrown away.  In essence, food banks operate intricate and advanced warehousing operations where food is collected, sorted and re-distributed to the community.  Traditionally, a food bank does not distribute food directly to those in need.  Instead, food banks serve an extensive network of organizations in their respective communities.  Therefore, working together, the food bank and the community organization can serve a greater number of people in the most efficient way.

The New Hampshire CPCU Chapter continues to support the New Hampshire Food Bank.  Please remember to bring any non-perishable food items or money donations to our regular chapter meetings.  Together, we can make a significant difference within our community!
